With the analog signal gone, many TV's rely on a converter box to pick up the Digital signal that is being broadcasted over the air, if you are not a subscriber to a Cable network or to a Satellite company.
And if you are like me and refuse to pay the outrageous amount of dollars that these companies are charging, you will either have to opt for the converter boxes, or you will turn to the Internet to watch some of the shows offered on Cable TV.
The major broadcasting stations have available web content for some of the shows, but if your show is not listed in their broadcasting line up you have to find another way to gain access to them. Which can be a bit unnerving sometimes, but in the long run pays off.
